Mountain Renewables is a renewable energy power plant service company based in Techachapi, CA with a team of field engineers and technicians who operate and maintain utility-scale solar PV and wind turbines. We are seeking to hire a Lead Field Engineer to oversee our Wind division projects, including management of other Field Engineers and their teams of technicians. Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the oversite of teams who operation and maintenance on multiple solar pv and wind turbine power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and high voltage tooling.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition

  • Provides inspection of electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting

  • Performs inspection for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures preventing tracking or production

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Daily execution of assigned projects across multiple scopes including installation, commissioning, major component exchange, troubleshoot and repair

  • Manage projects from initiation thru closeout and oversee all safety reporting, quality reporting, service reporting, and key performance indicators of your assigned projects

  • Lead teams to safely deliver high quality within the defined schedule and budget

  • Utilize project management strategies to improve project performance, productivity, and profitability

  • Establish and maintain rapport with customers and field employees

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvements

  • Release one safety flash and one quality flash each month

  • Maintain inventory of assigned assets and project tooling

  • 100% travel with R&R rotations, must be able and willing to travel extensively to meet customer demands on short notice.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Project Management experience

  • +8 years of experience with utility-scale Wind Turbine experience

  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)

  • Maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass NERC compliant background and drug screens

  • Associates or 2-year Technical Degree

  • Must pass a technical assessment with +90%

  • Must be able and willing to lift and climb excessive heights as required to complete tasks

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • +3 years of experience with Major Component Exchange experience on utility-scale wind turbines

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering

  • PMI - Project Management Professional

  • High Voltage certifications

  • Advanced Technical Certifications from Solar or Wind OEMs.
