OPEN POSITION

Manager of EHSQT - Environment, Healthy, Safety, Quality, and Training. 


 

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

 

The EHSQT Manager is a key role for our leadership team and project teams assisting in the implementation and execution of the company Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Program. This person will also serve as the primary liaison between the EHSQT Department and the field. This person will assist with safety, health, environmental, and quality reviews. This person will be a resource to the project teams in preventing occupational injury/illness-related losses by establishing appropriate loss control/reduction activities. This person will review incident reports and inspections, assist with investigations, provide mentorship to the Site Safety Reps, conduct monthly project audits to identify EHSQT opportunities and identify trends in the Region. This position will require a focus on the quality side of the business by ensuring the business is up to date with current quality roles and regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs safety, health, environmental, quality, and training reviews of the project(s) and region to include producing reports, conducting meetings, reporting findings to management, and following up to ensure items are corrected

  • Develops, maintains, and presents safety announcements, training materials, and other various content as needed to ensure compliance

  • Conducts monthly EHS Audits of all projects remotely

  • Hosts recurring safety meetings to maintain a strong culture of safety

  • Promptly respond to incidents, emergencies, and other safety-related events

  • Promote safety on social media to further build the company brand

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Leads to ensure the implementation of the company’s comprehensive Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Training Program.

  • Conducts investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions, and complaints

  • Guides on regulatory and legislative matters (OSHA, DOT, EPA, ANSI, ISN, etc.)

  • Assists with audits, inspections, and other operational initiatives as needed.

  • Maintains required safety, environmental, health, and quality documents, files, etc.

  • Coordinates and conducts training sessions as necessary.

  • Performs all other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
     

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Willingness to serve and support the EHSQT efforts of the organization

  • Verbal and written English communication skills are required

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

  • Initiative and problem-solving skills are a necessity

  • Partnering ability across multiple levels of the organization
     

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or technical field. Or, instead of an education requirement; (5) seven years of experience working in a heavy industrial or utility service environment. 

  • Minimum of (3) three years of experience working in a safety role in a heavy industrial or utility service environment. 

  • Computer proficiency in the use of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel required.

  • Must be proficient in creating presentations, reports, and training materials. 

  • Must be proficient in social media.  

  • Knowledge of renewable energy in O&M and Construction

  • CHST (Certified Health Safety Technician) or higher required.

  • OSHA 500 Required.

  • First Aid/CPR Instructor desired

  • Familiar with GWO, Enza, and other safety organizations
