Solar Technicians I, II, & III

Mountain Renewables is a renewable energy power plant service company based in Tehachapi, CA with a team of field engineers and technicians who operate and maintain utility-scale solar PV and wind turbines. We are seeking to hire Solar Technicians I, II, and III to join our expanding team of expert problem solvers.


Job Overview

Employees in this role are responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar PV power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations. Successful candidates apply a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components and equipment to include the use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and high voltage tooling.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains all tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in a safe and efficient condition

  • Provides inspection of electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting

  • Performs inspection for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures preventing tracking or production

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Establish and maintain rapport with customers and field employees

  • Maintain inventory of assigned assets and project tooling

  • 100% travel with R&R rotations, must be able and willing to travel extensively to meet customer demands on short notice.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)

  • Maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass NERC compliant background and drug screens

  • Must pass a technical assessment with +80%

  • Must be able and willing to lift and climb excessive heights as required to complete tasks

  • Solar Technician I

    • Entry-level, less than 1 year of experience in wind

  • Solar Technician II

    • Experience of 1-3 years in wind

    • Must be LOTO Qualified

  • Solar Technician III

    • Experience of +3 years in wind

    • Must be LOTO Qualified


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Technical Certifications from Wind OEMs.
